RELIABLE
RELIABLE: meaning and examples
Good morning everyone.
Last weekend we had a wonderful time in the CommunicACTION English Immersion in Viladrau with four very motivated students. During that two-day course in the Coromina Hotel (http://www.xaletcoromina.com/) we recorded some of the interesting vocabulary that came up in the one-to-one and group sessions. Over the next several days, we are going to look at some of this vocabulary. I want to thank Nuria, Jordi, Luis and Frank for their indirect inspiration for these vitamins. :-)
Today's word is: reliable
Meaning: someone or something that can be trusted to do something well; someone that you can rely on. It can also mean something that is likely to be true or correct (see example 3).
Example 1:
We are looking for someone who is reliable and hard-working for a managerial position in the company.
Example 2:
My car is getting old and is not as reliable as it used to be. I think it's time to buy a new one.
Example 3:
Our information comes from a reliable source.
We originally looked at this word on September 15th, 2005. I encourage you to read that Daily Vitamin too, which you can access on our website.
