STAR WARS VOCABULARY: REBEL

We are continuing with our theme for the week, which is Star Wars Vocabulary. Today we are looking at the noun REBEL and the verb REBEL. Note the difference in pronunciation: the noun is pronounced REbel and the verb is pronounced reBEL.

Definition 1 (noun): A person who rises in opposition or armed resistance against an established government or leader.

Example 1: The rebel forces beat Darth Vader and the Empire. 

Definition 2 (verb): To rise in opposition or armed resistance against an established government or leader.

Example 2: I think the workers are going to rebel if we don't increase their pay. 

Example 3: When I was a teenager, I decided to rebel against my parents and get a tattoo.
