PROFIT: meaning and examples

Good morning everyone. Today's word is: profit (noun) or to make a profit (verb). It means: the money you make by selling something or the money that a company has after it has paid its business costs. Example 1: The profits from the sale are going towards (se destinan a) helping the victims of the recent tsunami disaster. Example 2: We're never going to make a profit if we don't raise prices or cut costs. REMEMBER: The translation of profit is beneficio, so don't confuse the words profit and benefit in English.
