WORDY WEDNESDAY: 'TO GO VIRAL': meaning and examples

Hi, everyone! Happy Wednesday to you. I hope your week is going well. 

Today's vocabulary is an expression that is often used with technology: TO GO VIRAL. Have you heard of this phrase? 

Definition: to spread quickly over the Internet

Example 1: We posted the video on Tuesday and by Wednesday it had gone viral. It has over 1,000,000 views now. 

Example 2: She became famous after her funny video went viral

There is a short TED Talk from a YouTube employee, Kevin Allocca, called "Why Videos Go Viral." Have a look! It's very funny, and extremely interesting.

Here is some vocabulary that you might need while watching the video:

Set out: to start (a project, journey, etc.)
Propel: to make something move (like the propellers on an airplane) 
Sprout up: appear
To green-light (an idea): to give the OK to an idea or project
