Today we continue looking at common vegetable expressions in English.

Today's expression is: To know your onions

Meaning: To be experienced in or knowledgeable about a subject

Example 1:
When it comes to global warming and climate change, Jack really knows his onions. He doesn't just give his opinions, he gives facts and sources.

We also use the expression to know your stuff.

Example 2:
Mr Kiyosaki didn't do very well in school, but when it comes to business and investing, he knows his stuff.
