TO ADVANCE SOMEONE MONEY: meaning and examples

Good morning. I hope everyone had a good weekend.

Since soon it will be the time of year for sales (rebajas), we are continuing with our review of words and expressions in English related to shopping and paying.

Today's expression is: to advance someone money.

It means: to give or lend someone money before the usual time.

Example:
I don't have enough money for my Christmas shopping, but my boss is going to advance me some money before payday.
