SEASON-4: meaning and examples
Good morning everyone.
Today we finish our review of meanings of and expressions with the word season.
Today's 1st meaning of season is: a period of time during a year when a particular style of clothes, hair, etc. is in fashion.
Example 1:
This season the look is macho but sensitive.
Example 2:
With the cold weather comes the season of fur coats and scarfs.
Today's 2nd meaning of season is: a period of time when a play/theatre is shown in one place; a series of plays, films or television programmes.
Example 3:
Next week the play opens for a second season in New York.
Example 4:
This month the cinema is showing a season of films by Alfred Hitchcock.
