SALE-5: meaning and examples

Hello.

Today we finish our look at some of the uses and meanings of the word sale.

Today's expression is: Jumble sale (US: Rummage sale)

Meaning: A sale of old or used clothes, etc. to make money for a church, school or other organization.

Example 1:
This Saturday my son's school is holding a jumble sale to raise money to help pay for their summer English camps. 

Example 2:
Last Sunday I went to a rummage sale at the local church. I bought a lot of very nice used furniture for the guest house.
