PRESENTE CONTINUO EN INGLã‰S-1

Good morning. Welcome to another Essential Weekly Vitamin.

Vamos a dedicar 2 ó 3 Essential Vitamins al presente continuo en inglés. Hoy nos concentraremos en la estructura de este tiempo verbal, y más adelante miraremos sus usos.

1) El presente continuo se forma con el verbo (TO) BE y el GERUNDIO (-ING) del verbo principal.

Example 1:
I am playing guitar. (Estoy tocando la guitarra.)

Example 2:
Peter is reading a book. (Peter está leyendo un libro.)

2) La forma negativa se forma añadiendo NOT después del verbo BE:

Example 3:
I am not playing guitar. (No estoy tocando la guitarra.)

Example 4:
Peter isn't (is not) reading a book. (Peter no está leyendo un libro.)

3) En la forma interrogativa se invierten el sujeto y el auxiliar:

Example 5:
Are you playing guitar? (¿Estás tocando la guitarra?)

Example 6:
Is Peter reading a book? (¿Peter está leyendo un libro?)
