PICKUP (noun): meaning and examples

Today's word is: pickup (noun)

It means: a motor vehicle with low sides and no roof at the back used, for example, by farmers.

Example 1:
My brother just sold his car and bought a pickup. It doesn't seem to be a very practical vehicle for the city, though.

There are other meanings for the noun pickup. Another meaning is an occasion when somebody or something is collected.

Example 2:
The police arrested the drug dealer as he was about to make a pickup, however...his supplier escaped.

Example 3:
