OUTSKIRTS: meaning and examples
Good morning everyone.
In example 2 of yesterday's Daily Vitamin we used the word outskirts, which we will study today.
Today's word is: outskirts
Meaning: the parts of a city or town that are furthest from the centre.
Example 1 (example 2 yesterday):
Our house once stood alone on the outskirts of the city; however, with the recent growth, we are now surrounded by many other buildings.
Example 2:
They live in a large house on the outskirts of Madrid.
