MUSIC (2): meaning and examples
Good morning!
Today we continue with our topic of music vocabulary.
Today's First Word is: Album
It means: a CD, record or cassette with several songs or pieces of music recorded on it.
Example 1:
Speaker 1: Have you heard Coldplay's new album?
Speaker 2: Yes, it's not as good as their last one.
Today's Second Word is: Artist
It means: a person who performs music. It is sometimes written the French way with a final 'e' (Artiste).
Example 2:
Ladies and gentlemen... please welcome our special guest, the international artist, Jonathan Richman.
Example 3:
Recording artists need to go on tour to promote their albums.
Today's Third Word is: Band
It means: a group of musicians who play together.
Example 4:
Her favourite band is Ketama, and her favourite artist is Manolo Garcia.
