LEARNING SLANG (TO DROP A CLASS): meaning and examples

Hello and good morning everyone.

Today is our last Daily Vitamin lesson of the week, and our last lesson on the theme of Slang words and expressions related to study and school. I hope you are enjoying the lessons.

Today's expression is: TO DROP A CLASS

Definition: to remove yourself from a class that you are enrolled in. University students usually drop a class when it's too difficult or they are not interested in the topic. When a class is dropped, it doesn't generally show up on a student's transcript. It's as if the class was never enrolled in.

Sentence 1: If you want a full refund of your money, you must drop a class during the first two weeks of the semester.

Sentence 2: I signed up for too many classes, so I ended up dropping one last week. I feel less stressed now.

That's if for this week. I hope you found the expressions interesting and useful.

Next week we will look at back-to-school vocabulary and expressions; it's that time of the year. :-)

Have a great weekend!
