KEEP SOMEONE ON THEIR TOES: meaning and examples

Good morning.

Today we are going to look at an expression that our office manager, Judit Martos, suggested some months ago.

Today's expression is: To keep someone on their toes

Meaning: to make sure that somebody is ready to deal with anything that might happen by doing things to them that they are not expecting.

Example 1:
We make fairly regular surprise visits to our different shops to keep the staff on their toes.

Example 2:
My boss gave me a couple of extra things to do, just to keep me on my toes.

If you have any questions about today's Daily Vitamin, please post them in the Daily Vitamin Plus! forum section on our website (www.ziggurat.es). Asking us questions about these lessons will keep us on our toes. ;-)

Enjoy the rest of your day!
