EXPRESSIONS WITH BUSINESS-4: meaning and examples

Good morning.

Today we finish our review of uses of and expressions with the English word business.

Today's expression is(put) out of business.

Meaning: having stopped operating as a business because there is no more money or work available.

Example 1:
The recent crisis has put many small companies out of business.

Example 2:
If the economy doesn't improve, many travel agencies will probably go out of business this summer.
