CRY EXPRESSIONS-1: meaning and examples

The verb CRY (to produce tears from your eyes because you are unhappy or hurt) is used in several expressions, some of which we are going to look at this week.
Today's expression is: to cry over spilt milk
It means: to waste time worrying about something that has happened that you cannot do anything about.
Example 1:
She is always crying over spilt milk; she needs to learn how to accept reality.
Example 2:
There is no use crying over spilt milk; you lost the final game and there is nothing you can do about it. There is always next season!
