CRAVING: meaning and examples

(to have/get a craving for something)
: to have a strong, almost uncontrollable, desire to do something . It is usually used with words related to food, smoking or other habits.
: When you were pregnant, did you have any cravings
for strange foods?
: Well, now that I think of it, I remember getting a craving
for Indian food when I was in my seventh month of pregnancy.
I'm trying to quit smoking, especially now that the new tobacco law has come into effect, but I'm still going through the stage where I get strong cravings
for a cigarette.
