Today's expression is: to feel blue
Meaning: to feel sad or depressed often when there is no particular reason.
Example 1:
Nancy: What's wrong with you today Jack?
Jack: I don't know mom. I woke up this morning feeling blue.
Example 2:
She was alone on her birthday and feeling blue. Then her boyfriend called and invited her out, and she felt better.
