Meaning / Use: we use this phrase when we have tricked someone on April Fools' Day.
Dialogue 1:
Emma: Guess what? Our boss just announced that Fridays are now optional work-from-home days!
Jake: No way! That’s amazing!
Emma: Yeah… oh, and we’re also getting a raise.
Jake: Are you serious?!
Emma: Nope! April Fools! 😆
Today's 2nd phrase is: I can’t believe you fell for that!
Meaning / Use: A playful way to tease someone who has been tricked.
Dialogue 2:
Jake: Oh no, your shoe is untied!
Emma: (looks down) Wait a second… my shoes don’t even have laces!
Jake: Ha ha! I can't believe you fell for that!
Emma: You got me… but just wait, I’ll get you back! 😡
