TO PULL THE WOOL OVER SOMEONE'S EYES: meaning and examples

Good morning. I hope everyone had a nice weekend.

Today we are going to answer a question that we received from Marta Macià. Marta asked about the meaning of the phrase to pull the wool over your eyes.

Today's expression is: to pull the wool over your eyes

Meaning: to try to deceive someone or to hide your real intentions from somebody.

Example 1:
Mr Millet managed to pull the wool over the public's eyes for some time, but in the end he was caught.

Example 2:
You paid 250 euros for that watch?! That's not a Rolex; it's just a cheap copy. You really got the wool pulled over your eyes!

Thank you for your question Marta. If anyone has any queries about today's Daily Vitamin, they should post their comments by clicking on the "Add a Comment" button in the Daily Vitamin section on our website (www.ziggurat.es).
