TO MEAN BUSINESS: meaning and examples

Good morning, Today's expression is: to mean business (Pronunciation: BIZ-nes) It is used: to say that you are very serious about something that you say or that you have to do Example 1 Mother: George! Have you cleaned you room yet? I meant business when I said that you couldn't watch TV until you did! George: Awwww, mum! Can't I do it tomorrow? Mother: No! Now means now! Example 2 Lucy has given away most of her books and music CDs. She's also thrown away half of her wardrobe (ropa) and she plans to sell her car. She says she wants to simplify her life and I guess she means business! Remember to post any questions about today's Daily Vitamin in the Daily Vitamin Plus! section on our website.
