SET-4: meaning and examples

Good morning. Today we complete our look at expressions with the word set in them. 

Today's expression is: to set out

Meaning 1: to leave a place and begin a journey.

Meaning 2: to begin a job, task, etc. with a particular aim or goal.    

Example 1
The hikers set out on the last stage of their journey; they were tired, but very motivated to get home.

Example 2
:
Setting up the new company was a lot of work, but in the end they succeeded in what they set out to do.
