RUSH-4: meaning and examples

Good morning again everyone.

Today we finish our series of Daily Vitamins about the English word RUSH by looking at a couple of expressions.

Today's 1st Expression is: to rush someone into something or into doing something

Meaning: to do something or to make someone do something without thinking about it carefully.

Example 1:
I think it's best if young couples don't rush into having children.

Example 2:
Please don't rush me...I need time to think about it before making a decision.

Today's 2nd Expression is: to rush something through (something)

Meaning: to deal with official business very quickly by making the usual process shorter than usual.

Example 3:
Parliament tried to rush the new budget quickly through the approval process before midnight.
