Meaning: An errand is a job that you do for someone that involves going somewhere to take a message, to buy something, to deliver something, etc.

Example 1:
I usually spend Saturday mornings running errands.

Example 2:
I sent Jack on a simple errand two hours ago, and he still hasn't come back. I wonder what's taking him so long!
