RESUME: meaning and examples

Hello everyone. I hope you had a nice Easter week.

Today we resume our Daily Vitamin lessons, after a short break.

Today's word is: resume (pronounced "ri zúm")

Meaning: if an activity resumes, it begins again or continues after an interruption.

Example 1:
After an interruption of six years to raise her daughter, she resumed her career as a corporate lawyer.

Example 2:
The noise from the motor resumed, louder than ever, so he decided to take his car to the mechanic.
