PURCHASE: meaning and examples

Today's word is: purchase (verb; noun) It means: to buy The word purchase is more formal than buy and for this reason it is often used in Business English contexts, either as a verb (to purchase) or a noun (the purchase of something). Example 1 They want to purchase 500 shares (acciones) in the new company. Example 2 He works in the purchasing department. He is responsible for approving all purchases above 50 euros.
