PICKY: meaning and examples

Good morning. I hope everyone had a great weekend.

This week we are going to look at some of the very interesting words and expressions that came up (surgieron) in the Ziggurat Breakfast Club conversation activity last Saturday.

Today's word is: Picky (informal)

Meaning: used to describe a person that only likes particular things and who is difficult to please. Some synonyms are finicky, choosy, fussy or particular.

Example 1:
My eight-year-old son used to eat everything when he was younger; now he has become a very picky eater. Every day there are more and more things that he doesn't like.

Example 2:
Our teacher is very picky about punctuation, so be careful where you put your commas (,), questions marks (?) and full stops (.).
