PARTICULAR (REVIEW)
PARTICULAR (REVIEW): meaning and examples
Good morning everyone!
Today's Daily Vitamin was originally sent in November of 2003.
Today's word is: particular (adjective).
It's used before nouns to emphasise that you are talking about a specific or special person or thing and not something else.
(It does NOT mean 'private' or 'personal' like the same word in Spanish/Catalan.)
Example 1
Is there any particular English topic that you would like me to cover in the Daily Vitamin?
Example 2
According to recent polls in Catalonia, street crime is an issue of particular concern.
