ON TOP OF: meaning and examples

It means: in addition to. It is often used to add an extra point to a list of things.
Example 1:
We're having the barbeque at our place and on top of that, all the cousins from out of town are coming to stay. It's going to be a busy weekend!
Example 2:
I had to give a presentation yesterday morning and I spilled coffee on my presentation notes. Then, I arrived late because my car broke down. On top of it all, the microphone didn't work. What a disaster!
