Today's expression is: out of your hands

Meaning: no longer your responsibility.

Example 1:
I would love to help you, but I'm afraid the matter is completely out of my hands now. I suggest you call the central office.

Example 2:
He keeps telling me that this pay cut is out of his hands, but I was told he was the one who pushed for the cuts.
