MAKE MY DAY: meaning and examples

Good morning, everyone! Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin. I hope you are having a great day and an excellent week.

Today we look at another expression that we normally use when speaking.

Today's phrase is: TO MAKE MY DAY or TO MAKE SOMEONE'S DAY

Meaning: To make someone happy.

Example 1: Seeing you back at work after your illness, Mary, really made my day. Welcome back!

Example 2:
I just got a call from the CEO of the company that I interviewed with last Friday. They want to hire me. That really makes my day!
