LIKE-6: meaning and examples

Hello again.

Today we continue with our study of expressions with the English word like.

Today's like expression is: I / I'd like to think...

Meaning: used to say that you hope or believe that something is true.

Example 1:
I like to think that I'm an open-minded person, but perhaps as I get older, this is not so true.

Example 2:
I'd like to think that I can get the report done by this Friday, but in case it's not possible, would it be okay to give it to you on Monday?
