Today's expression is: journal

Meaning 1: a newspaper or magazine that deals with a particular subject or profession.

Example 1:
As he is a doctor, he regularly reads the British Medical Journal, to stay in touch with the latest trends in medicine.

Meaning 2: a daily written record of (usually) personal experiences. A synonym of this meaning of journal would be diary.

Example 2:
His wife always keeps a written journal when they travel, so that she can easily remember all the details of their holidays.
