GO EXPRESSIONS-2: meaning and examples

Good morning everyone.

Today we continue with our review of different English expressions with the verb GO.

Today's expression is: to go down well or badly

Meaning: used to talk about whether people like something such as a performance, a speech, etc.

Example 1:
The CEO's announcement of the layoffs didn't go down well. Everyone is very nervous now.

Example 2:
His presentation of the product went down very well. I think we will get the new client.
