GO A LONG WAY: meaning and examples

Today's expression is: to go a long way (when talking about money, food, etc.)
Meaning: to last for a long time.
Example 1:
He is able to make his money go a long way, since he spends very prudently.
Example 2:
A very small amount of this paint goes a long way. We were able to paint almost three rooms with only one litre.
