GIVE AWAY (1): meaning and examples

Good morning. I hope everyone had a good weekend! Today we will begin a new series of three Daily Vitamins that look at common phrasal verbs with the verb GIVE, as requested by Eugenia L. Today's expression is: give something away Meaning: to tell someone information or facts that should be secret. Example 1: If I tell you a secret, will you promise not to give it away? I'm going to quit my job next month but I haven't told me boss yet. Please don't tell anyone! Example 2: The spy was trained not to give away the secret codes to the enemy.
