Good morning.

Do you know how to say frutos secos in English?

Today's word is: Nut

It means: a small hard fruit with a very hard shell that grows on some trees.

Many of the different kinds of nuts actually have the suffix -nut in their name.

-Peanut --> Cacahuete
-Walnut --> Nuez
-Hazelnut --> Avellana
-Chestnut --> Castaña
-Pine nut --> Piñón
-Macadamia nut --> Macadamia

Not all nuts, of course, have the suffix -nut in their name.

-Almond --> Almendra
-Pecan --> Pacana
-Pistachio --> Pistacho
-Cashew (nut) --> Anacardo
