FRONT-3: meaning and examples

Hello everyone.

Today we continue our look at expressions with the English word front.

Today's expression is: front for someone/something (verb or noun)

Meaning: to represent a group or an organization and try to hide its secret or illegal activities.

Example 1:
The Florida Language Institute was a front for illegal immigration visas. 

Example 2:
He fronted for them in several illegal property deals.
