FRESH-4: meaning and examples
Good morning.
Today we continue with our look at the word fresh.
Today's meaning is: containing no salt (when talking about water).
Example 1:
There is a very small amount of fresh water on the island.
We can also form the adjective freshwater to describe plants and animals that live in water that is not the sea and is not salty. The opposite of freshwater would be saltwater.
Example 2:
My brother has a freshwater aquarium at home. He used to have an aquarium with saltwater fish, but all of them died.
