This week we are going to look at more expressions with the word SALT.
Today's expression is: to salt something away
It means: to save something for the future secretly, sometimes dishonestly.
Example 1:
The CEO salted away all the company's profits in foreign bank accounts.
Example 2:
Every month I try to salt some money away for my retirement, but it's not easy.
