EXPRESSIONS WITH BUSINESS-1: meaning and examples

Good morning. I hope everyone had a nice weekend.

This week we are going to look at some English expressions that include the word business in them.

Today's expression is: to be in business (informal)

Meaning: to have everything you need in order to be able to start something right away.

Example 1:
I would love to be able to go to France during the holidays. All we need is a car and we'll be in business.

The more formal meaning of to be in business is to have or run a business or company. 

Example 2:
Her clothing shop has been in business since 1985. This year they will celebrate the 25th anniversary of this family business.
