COME BACK: meaning and examples

Good morning.

Today we will look at one more common expression with the verb come.

Today's expression is: Come back

Meaning 1: to return to a place

Example 1:
You came back very late last night after the party.

Example 2:
She was feeling quite ill and was as white as a sheet. But now her colour is coming back to her cheeks.

Meaning 2: to become popular, fashionable or successful again.

Example 3:
Long hair for men seems to be coming back.

The noun equivalent of this second meaning is comeback.

Example 4
:
Today a lot of bands from the 1980s are making a comeback. Can you believe that the band Europe is going to tour again?
