CLOTHING EXPRESSIONS-1: meaning and examples

Good morning everyone!

For the next few days we are going to review some English expressions that use clothing in them (shoes, shirt, belt, etc.).

Today we will look at an expression with the word shoe (zapato).

Today's expression is: to be in somebody's shoes or to put yourself in somebody's shoes

Meaning: to be in or imagine that you are in another person's situation, especially when it is a difficult or unpleasant situation.

Example 1:
I wouldn't like to be in the President's shoes right now, with all the economic problems.

We can also use this expression to give advice.

Example 2:
If I were in your shoes, I'd resign (dimitir) immediately.
