Today we continue our review of some common abbreviations in English.
Today's first abbreviation is: BLT
It stands for: Bacon, lettuce and tomato
This is a type of sandwich that includes these ingredients.
Example 1:
Waiter: What can I get for you?
Customer: I'll have the BLT on rye bread and a beer please.
Today's second abbreviation is: Xmas
It stands for: Christmas
We use this abbreviation in writing only.
