Today we are finishing up our week of Business Expressions with the phrase (TO TRY ANY) FUNNY BUSINESS

Definition: To do actions or behaviours intended to be dishonest. 

Example 1: Don't try any funny business with the market owner. 

Example 2: I'm not interested in any of this funny business. Something about this transaction feels wrong.

I hope you're enjoying our Business-Expressions theme. Today we are learning the phrase TO MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS

Definition: To avoid interfering or being nosey.

Example 1: I try to mind my own business at work, but my officemate keeps talking about her boyfriend and their drama. 

Example 2: I really don't know Tim that well. He minds his own business in the office.

Welcome back, everyone! Happy Wednesday to you. 

Today we are continuing our Business-Expressions theme. Today we are looking at the phrase TO GO ABOUT ONE'S BUSINESS

Definition: To continue doing what one normally does. 

Example 1: There's some office gossip about a relationship between the office assistant and the manager. But I don't know much about it: I just go about my business

Example 2: We were really sad after our beloved manager quit, but we just went about our business until they found a replacement.

Hello Daily Vitamin readers! How's your day going? I hope you're having a nice week. 

This week we are learning Business Expressions; today we are looking at the phrase TO GET DOWN TO BUSINESS

Definition: To begin working; to begin something by giving the determination or seriousness it needs. 

Example 1: Now that we have all met each other, let's get down to business

Example 2: Here's my agenda for the meeting. As you can see, we will do introductions and then we will get down to business

Example 3: We spent about 30 minutes talking about our families, and then we got down to business.

2019 ALPHABET GAME: AND THE WINNERS ARE...

Good morning again Daily Vitamin readers. Today we are excited to announce the 2019 Alphabet Game winners; the people who have won the following prizes:

1st Prize: A six-month General-English online course valued at 220,00€.
2nd Prize: a three-month 'English-for-Work' online course valued at 120,00€.
3rd Prize: Fresh'n Rebel Rockbox CUBE Bluetooth speaker, valued at 30,00€.

First, I want to remind you how we distributed the points to the participants.

For posting a correct answer on our Facebook or Twitter pages, each Alphabet Game participant received one point automatically. Between all the participants that posted correct answers each day, the participant who posted first received 10 additional points, the participant who posted second received 9 additional points, the participant who posted third received 8 additional points, etc. The participant who posted tenth received one additional point. So, the first 10 people to post correctly got 1 point for posting, plus the additional points for their 1st to 10th place standing.

After twenty-six lessons, these are the top five scorers.

3) Nacio Palacio with 187 points
4) Rosa Fischer with 177 points

As you may have noticed this morning, we are continuing with the normal Daily Vitamin lessons until Friday, July 12th. Then we will take a break until September 12th. This week we are looking at Business Expressions.
