LISTEN TO THE DAILY VITAMIN HERE:
Welcome to our first Theme Thursday of the academic year! For September, we are focusing on useful adverbs. Remember, an adverb is a word that modifies a verb. Often, an adverb ends in -LY, but this is not always the case. Words like WELL and FAST are also adverbs.
Today we are looking at the word DEFIANTLY.
Definition: to do something with defiance; to do something with resistance or opposing authority or rule.
Example 1: She looked at him defiantly when she refused his marriage proposal.
Example 2: I asked my daughter to clean her room but she defiantly sat on her bed and didn't move.
Example 3: The politician defiantly announced that he was not going to support the Presidential candidate.
That's it for today! I hope you find a way to use this word in your daily conversation very soon!

Good morning, everyone! I hope your week is going well.
Today we are looking at two commonly confused nouns: STRANGER and FOREIGNER. Do you know the difference?
Stranger: a person you do not know.
Example 1: When I was a child, my mother told me not to talk to strangers.
Example 2: This stranger just tried to pet my dog, and my dog didn't like him!
Foreigner: a person from another country.
Example 3: Most of the foreigners in my neighbourhood shop at a local market. They have spices from around the world.
Example 4: When you are in another country, you are a foreigner. It's a great time to learn local customs and try new foods.
That's all for today. I hope you enjoyed this lesson! We will see you tomorrow for Theme Thursday. Have a great day!

LISTEN TO THE DAILY VITAMIN HERE:
Hello, readers! Happy Tuesday to all of you.
Our Tense Tuesday is focusing on the future. We are looking at the future for a spontaneous (unplanned) decision.
Remember that the future can be expressed different ways in English; it is commonly expressed with WILL or GOING TO. Today we are focusing on using WILL when making a quick (unplanned) decision.
Example 1: (The phone rings.) I'll get it.
Example 2: (Dinner is finished.) I'll do the dishes.
Example 3: You're sick? I'll bring you some soup.
In each of these examples, we see that the person is making a decision to do something in the moment. In these situations, WILL + BARE INFINITIVE is a better choice than BE GOING TO, which is used for planned future actions.
That's all for today. Thanks for reading!
