This week we are learning business expressions related to changing plans. We all know that in business situations we often have to change plans.

Today's expression is actually a phrasal verb: TO HOLD OFF (doing something)

Definition: to wait before doing something. 

Example 1: We decided to hold off buying the smaller company; it's not the right time. 

Example 2: She held off selling the company. Years later, she sold it for a much higher price. 

Example 3: I don't know if we should hold off hiring a new person or if we should do it now. 

This phrasal verb cannot be separated
