BEGINNING BUSINESS EMAILS OR LETTERS: GOOD OR BAD NEWS: meaning and examples

Hello everyone! Today is the last day of our Daily Vitamins about Beginning Business Emails, since there will be no Daily Vitamin lesson on Thursday or Friday this week.

Today we are looking at how to begin emails or letters when we are providing good or bad news

Here are some ways to begin emails or letters about good news. Remember, these phrases would generally come after the initial salutation (Dear Mr___ / Dear Mrs ___ / etc.).

Sentence 1: I / we are pleased to announce that...

Sentence 2: I am delighted to inform you that...

And here are some ways to begin emails or letters that have bad news.

Sentence 3: I regret to inform you that...

Sentence 4: I am sorry to tell you that...

Sentence 5: I’m afraid it will not be possible to...

That's all for today, and it also concludes our lessons for the week: tomorrow is a holiday in Spain and Friday is being treated as a puente (bridge) for many, so there will be no lessons on Thursday or Friday.

Enjoy the rest of your week and we will see you next Monday with some synonyms for "strange."
