TO SUIT (1): meaning and examples

It means: that something (clothes or a hair style) looks good on a person because of the colour or style. With this expression, we use the following word order: Article/piece of clothing or hairstyle SUIT person Example 1: They say that pink clothes do not suit a person with red hair. Example 2: I don’t think that dress suits you very well. You would look better in something that wasn't so tight! Example 3: Kathy's new haircut really suits her.
