PHRASAL VERB FRIDAY: TURN INTO: meaning and examples

Hi readers! I hope you've enjoyed our Halloween-crazy month of October, where most of our posts were dedicated to Halloween. We are finishing this month with one more phrasal verb: TO TURN INTO (something).

Definition
: to become something; to be transformed into something.

Example 1
: If you get bit by a vampire, then you turn into a vampire too.

Example 2
: Folklore says that he turns into a werewolf when there is a full moon.

And of course, we can use this for non-Halloween situations too.

Example 3
: My experiences volunteering in India really turned me into the person I am today.

Example 4
: After having a baby, I turned into a much more responsible person.

As you can see from the examples, this phrasal verb is TRANSITIVE and it is SEPARABLE.

That's all for this week! We will see you on Monday for more lessons.

Have a great weekend!
